Operation Ethiopia is a humanitarian organization dedicated to providing quality eye care and preventing blindness in Ethiopia. Their mission also includes offering physician training and assistance with feeding malnourished children. What sets Operation Ethiopia apart is its humble beginnings as a family volunteer trip to Ethiopia, sparked by their children's suggestion.

Witnessing the abject poverty and lack of medical care, the family was compelled to take action. They established the first Mobile Eyecare Clinic in the Jewish compound in Gondar, providing eyecare services to remote villages. Additionally, Operation Ethiopia conducts cataract campaigns, aiming to eradicate preventable blindness in Ethiopia.

To address the limited number of ophthalmologists, they offer training programs for Ethiopian doctors in Israel and provide on-site training at local hospitals. While their work extends to both Jewish and non-Jewish populations, Operation Ethiopia remains committed to providing humanitarian aid to Jews in extreme poverty. They also collaborate with Struggle to Save Ethiopian Jewry (SSEJ) for their feeding program.
