Optimist Youth Football, established in 1949 in Boise's Northend, is a renowned and unique youth football program serving the Boise Valley area. Unlike traditional programs, Optimist Youth Football prioritizes neighborhood-based team formation, focusing on players' age, weight, and residency rather than skill level. This inclusive approach fosters camaraderie and lifelong friendships as players grow together over four years.

Coaches also stay with their teams, ensuring a long-term commitment to both players and the development of individual and team goals. The program offers various leagues, including tackle football for ages 8-13, flex football for ages 8-12 (boys and girls), and cheerleading for ages 4-12. Optimist Football promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, commitment, and relationship building, providing a unique experience for over 83,000 children who have participated in the program.

To ensure accessibility, Optimist Youth Football operates a needs-based financial aid program, allowing every child who wants to play the opportunity to do so. The program is run by dedicated volunteers and offers a safe and supportive environment, with coaches certified in USA Football Heads Up Coaching techniques and player safety coaches actively monitoring practices. Join Optimist Youth Football today and give your child the chance to be part of a truly exceptional football program that values inclusivity, development, and fun
