Oracwa

Oracwa, short for Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing Oregon's water quality. They provide high-value, science-based practical services to their membership, which includes wastewater treatment and stormwater management agencies and their consultants. Oracwa aims to address water quality issues by cooperatively working with federal and state regulatory agencies, identifying areas of collaboration with other water quality stakeholders, and pooling resources to meet environmental standards effectively.

Through education, regulatory advocacy, and partnerships, they support Oregon communities in building environmentally, financially, and organizationally sustainable water resources management. Their membership consists of over 126 wastewater treatment and stormwater management agencies, along with associated professionals. Oracwa is governed by a Board of Directors, led by Executive Director Susie Smith.

They also have active professional volunteer boards and committees that play a crucial role in accomplishing their work. Benefits of Oracwa membership include advocacy, technical expertise, routine updates on regulatory changes, training programs, participation in committees, and networking opportunities with peers. To join Oracwa, interested parties can complete the New Membership Application form available on their website.

Dues are assessed on a sliding scale based on the agency's treatment plant size or the number of water quality professionals for associate members. With a strong commitment to water quality and sustainable water resources management, Oracwa is leading the way in Oregon
