Oral History Kosovo

Oral History Kosovo is a dynamic initiative founded in 2012, born from a collaboration between the Kosova Women’s Network and The New School for Public Engagement. This organization is dedicated to preserving the rich tapestry of personal narratives that intersect with Kosovo's complex history, particularly focusing on the unique experiences of individuals, especially women, whose stories have often been overlooked. Through a comprehensive approach that involves filming and transcribing interviews in Albanian, English, and Serbian, Oral History Kosovo creates a vibrant archive of voices that reflect both the struggles and triumphs within the country's social fabric.

The initiative not only documents oral histories but also engages in broader research themes by crafting films, publications, and podcasts that bring these stories to a wider audience. By prioritizing authenticity and cultural sensitivity, Oral History Kosovo strives to challenge conventional narratives, offering nuanced perspectives on the past. The organization aims to foster understanding and reconciliation by ensuring that every voice is heard and valued, thus enriching Kosovo's cultural history for future generations.
