About Orang-Utan
BOS Deutschland e. V. Orangutans are our closest relatives, sharing 97% of our DNA.
Unfortunately, their natural habitat in the rainforests of Borneo has been severely impacted by human activities such as palm oil production, deforestation for timber and coal, and the illegal wildlife trade. BOS rescues and rehabilitates orphaned and injured orangutans in their two rescue stations in Borneo. Currently, they care for around 400 individuals, providing them with medical treatment and preparing them for release back into the wild.
By supporting BOS with your donations, you can contribute to their vital work at the rescue stations. You can also become a sponsor and accompany an orphaned orangutan through the forest school on its journey to freedom. Additionally, BOS is dedicated to protecting and restoring rainforests, safeguarding 460,680 hectares sustainably.
