About YOSL-OIC
YOSL - Protecting Orangutans and Their Forest Homes YOSL is a brand dedicated to the preservation and conservation of orangutans in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Our mission is to protect these intelligent creatures and their natural habitat by addressing the pressing threats they face. Through our extensive efforts, we rescue orangutans in need, with a total of 223 already saved from dangerous situations.
Additionally, we prioritize the restoration of the forest ecosystem, successfully restoring 2,629 hectares of degraded land in and around the Gunung Leuser National Park. YOSL also supports local communities by providing training on issues such as human-orangutan conflict, organic farming, and restoration techniques. We recognize the importance of tackling forest crimes and work closely with law enforcement to prosecute offenders.
To further our mission, we conduct research and surveys, gathering vital scientific data to better understand and protect orangutans and their environment.
