Orangutan Jungle School is a wildlife series and public-facing project that follows orphaned orangutans through rehabilitation at the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation’s Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Set in a forest-school environment, the series introduces orangutans of different ages and personalities as they learn and progress on their journey toward freedom. Across its seasons, it shares their friendships, playful antics, setbacks, triumphs and individual stories, while also offering a glimpse of the dedicated care they receive.
The programme combines natural-history storytelling with behind-the-scenes clips and aims to help viewers understand the lives and needs of this endangered species. The site also features an adoption centre, where visitors can explore available orangutan adoption options by country, alongside information about where to watch the series. Season two continues the stories from the rehabilitation centre, while season three focuses on the distinct characters and relationships that shape the featured orangutans.
