About Orchids for the People
Orchids for the People is a brand born out of a passionate love story between a plant nerd and a girl. With infectious enthusiasm for orchids, this couple's collection quickly grew out of control. To rein it in, Jennifer told Blaine to either stop buying or start selling.
This led to the birth of Orchids for the People. Initially starting in Arcata, CA with a small greenhouse, they sold orchids at local farmers' markets and online. In 2001, they relocated to McKinleyville, CA, nestled in the scenic redwoods just 2 miles from the Pacific Ocean.
The mild weather and temperatures in this area provide the perfect conditions for growing a wide range of cool to warm growing orchids. At Orchids for the People, their vision is to ensure every person can successfully grow orchids. They generously share their knowledge, skills, and experiences to help both struggling and experienced growers alike.
