Oregon Backcountry Outfitting

Oregon Backcountry Outfitting is an Eastern Oregon outfitter founded in 2017 and owned and operated by Brian Sanders, who has more than a decade of outfitting experience. The company provides guided hunting trips throughout Oregon, with permits in multiple units and experience pursuing big game, including elk, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and spring bear. Its offerings include fully guided, all-inclusive one-on-one hunts, semi-guided, all-inclusive hunts for two clients, meat packs, and gear drops and pickups. The outfitter specializes in archery, rifle, auction, and raffle tags, including hunts for trophy elk in the Wenaha unit.

Based near Wallowa Lake, Oregon Backcountry Outfitting also operates equestrian activities through Wallowa Lake Pack Station. Visitors can arrange wilderness horseback riding and pack trips, as well as adventures involving hiking, camping, fishing, or photography. Brian and his crew draw on local knowledge and experience in Eastern Oregon’s wilderness areas, including the Eagle Cap and Wenaha-Tucannon. The company emphasizes professional, safety-conscious service for individuals, families, and groups seeking outdoor experiences.
