Orienteering Puglia

Orienteering Academy Puglia promotes orienteering across Puglia, introducing people of different ages and abilities to an outdoor sport that combines physical activity, navigation and decision-making. Participants use a topographic map and compass to find marked control points, choosing their own routes and aiming to complete a course accurately and quickly. Activities can take place in forests and countryside, as well as city parks, beaches, school grounds and historic centres.

The Academy organizes recreational and competitive events, celebrations, courses, educational projects with schools, cultural and promotional activities, and training for managers. It also provides cartographic services, creating orienteering maps intended as permanent sports facilities. Its offerings include classic foot orienteering and precision orienteering, including Trail-O, in which people with different levels of physical ability, including wheelchair users, can compete on equal terms.

Orienteering can be enjoyed by athletes, families, students, runners and walkers, with participants choosing to run or walk according to their ability.
