Special Educational Centre No. 2 in Kalisz is an education and rehabilitation institution serving children and young people with hearing impairments. The centre describes itself as the only specialist facility in the Kalisz area offering a comprehensive range of education and rehabilitation for children who are hard of hearing or deaf.

Its services include early childhood development support, preschool classes, Primary School No. 5 for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, Technical Secondary School No. 5 for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and a boarding facility.

Early support is available from a child’s first months of life until school begins, with sessions provided free of charge and arranged so they do not conflict with therapy funded through Poland’s National Health Fund. Preschool places are also available to children with special educational needs, including those with visual impairments, autism, intellectual disabilities, or multiple disabilities. The centre serves as a coordinating, rehabilitation, and care institution under the national “Za życiem” programme.
