Osakaskunnat

Nastolan Osakaskunnat Ry is a local water-management association serving small lakes and rivers in the Arrajoki catchment area. Its waters form a chain of lakes and rivers between the Salpausselkä ridges, valued for their natural environment, recreation and fishing. The association was established by local water-area owners to continue water-management work after the former fisheries area was required to cease operating under Finland’s 2016 Fisheries Act.

The association works to maintain and improve local waters through fish stocking, fisheries management and reed cutting. Stocked species listed by the association include vendace, eel, carp, pike-perch, rainbow trout and trout, with trout also introduced as eggs in incubation boxes. Management fishing is carried out mainly with seines, using the association’s own equipment. Reed cutting is available on member water areas by agreement and is performed with the association’s own machine.

Its website provides lake information, local notices and fishing guidance, including information about shared permits and applicable fishing restrictions.
