Oshwal Association of the U. K. (OAUK) is the largest Jain organization in the U.

K., established in 1967 and registered as a charitable organization in 1974. With approximately 15,000 registered members and an estimated overall population of 25,000, it is dedicated to advancing the Jain religion in the U. K., as well as providing relief from poverty, advancement of education, and protection of health.

OAUK is divided into 9 Areas for administrative purposes, each managed by an Area Committee. The Executive Committee oversees the governance and administration of the association. Oshwals, the followers of the Jain faith, revere Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthanker, and follow the guiding principles of Right Belief, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct.

Non-violence towards all living beings is a key tenet of the Jain faith, promoting peace and harmony. The association carries out a range of activities for the welfare and benefit of its members, including religious activities, Gujarati Schools, adult education classes, health and welfare seminars, events for the elderly, sports clubs for children, and cultural heritage programs. It also engages in charitable work, raising funds for animal welfare, education, and healthcare for those in need.

The work is primarily carried out by dedicated volunteers, who contribute their time and effort to the community. OAUK has four venues, including the Oshwal Centre, the site of the first Shikarband Jain Temple in Europe. The history of the Halari Visa Oshwal Community, to which OAUK belongs, dates back to the 5th century B.

C. Oshwals have migrated from India to various regions, including East Africa and the U. K., where they have established successful businesses and made significant contributions in various professions.
