Ossau-Katahadin

De l’Ossau à Katahdin is a history and heritage website created by the Association de l’Ossau à Katahdin, which works to bring attention to the role of Béarnais, Basques and people from the Landes in the history of Acadia and New France. Its content explores the lives of figures such as the Baron de Saint-Castin, the Baron de Lahontan and Auger de Subercase, as well as the histories of Indigenous peoples, including the Abenaquis and Penobscots. The site features historical articles, anecdotes, heritage topics and publications, with subjects ranging from the Ordre de Bon Temps to the relationships between Indigenous nations and French leaders.

Beyond its online resources, the association publishes a journal, conducts historical research and organizes conferences. It also welcomes descendants who want to learn about the places where their ancestors lived and supports people researching family history. The association presents these activities in a convivial spirit and invites visitors to contact it for further information, ancestry-related questions or interest in the history of New France and Acadia
