Alten Bahner Kirwaboum e.V. is a community association in Hersbruck, Germany, dedicated to celebrating and preserving the local Kirwa tradition. After nearly 30 years without the festival, the Kirwa was revived in 1996, and the association was founded in 1999. Today, its volunteer members bring people together to enjoy one of Hersbruck’s best-loved celebrations and maintain a lively year-round community.

Beyond the main festival, Alten Bahner Kirwaboum hosts additional events and gatherings throughout the year, including club meetings. Its website provides festival updates, event listings and background on the association’s history, leadership, Kirwa couples and members. The group welcomes new faces and invites anyone interested in experiencing and supporting Kirwa customs to get involved. With its focus on volunteering, shared traditions and sociability, Alten Bahner Kirwaboum helps keep a distinctive local celebration thriving for the Hersbruck community.
