Östra Löken is a student-run satirical newspaper associated with Östra Gymnasiet. Describing itself as the school’s most credible satire publication, it aims to stay “threateningly close to reality,” using parody and exaggerated storytelling to comment on school life, current affairs, and social issues. Its website features a varied mix of articles, opinion pieces, reader submissions, reports, and humorous news, with contributions credited to multiple writers.

Topics range from cafeteria food, school rules, exams, and student experiences to politics, public services, social media, and emergency preparedness. The deliberately absurd headlines and scenarios are presented as satire rather than straightforward reporting, giving the publication a playful way to engage its school community and invite readers to question familiar situations. Visitors can browse recent stories, read submitted pieces, access PDF editions, and explore sections such as notices and opinion content. Östra Löken’s offering is editorial and informational: it publishes entertaining commentary and school-focused satire for readers interested in a humorous take on life at Östra Gymnasiet and beyond.
