About OSV 1887
Oberhausener Schachverein 1887 (OSV 1887) is a chess club based in Oberhausen, Germany, with a long history reflected in its club championships and tournament records dating back to the early twentieth century. It brings together adult and youth players for competitive chess, club activities, and online play. Members can take part in internal competitions such as the OSV Championship, rapid chess tournament, blitz events, and club cup, alongside open tournaments and external competitions.
The club also organizes youth chess, including a youth championship and teams competing in regional leagues, and supports players through its youth program and related activities. OSV fields several adult teams as well as youth teams, with match reports and results shared through its website. Its calendar features regular club games, tournament rounds, and special events, including team blitz championships hosted at the club venue.
Players and visitors can find practical information about the playing venue and opening hours, directions, membership applications and fees, club leadership, statutes, rating lists, chess links, and photo albums
