Otera Oyasumi Club is a certified non-profit organization in Japan dedicated to addressing child poverty by connecting local temples with families in need. Founded on the principle of sharing, the organization collects offerings made at Buddhist temples and redistributes them to single-parent households and other families facing difficulties. Through partnerships with approximately 1,500 temples across all 47 prefectures and around 500 support groups, the Otera Oyasumi Club delivers essential goods such as snacks, fruits, food items, and daily necessities to those requiring assistance.

The club aims to bridge the gap between the abundance found in temples and the scarcity experienced by vulnerable members of the community, fostering a culture of mutual support and care. Their work not only alleviates immediate hunger but also promotes social inclusion, ensuring that no child goes without a meal. Recognized for its impactful design and innovative approach to community support, the Otera Oyasumi Club strives to cultivate a society where the act of giving and receiving becomes a universal practice, rooted in compassion.
