Ottawa Pet Rat Rescue (OPRats) is a dedicated non-profit organization that advocates for the rescue, fostering, and adoption of pet rats in Ottawa. Committed to raising awareness about the joys of pet ownership, OPRats educates potential rat-parents on the importance of adopting over purchasing from pet stores or breeders, highlighting the inhumane conditions many commercial breeders maintain. The organization operates entirely on donations and volunteer efforts, providing essential support to the rats in their care.

At OPRats, potential adopters can find a diverse range of pet rats ready for new homes. They emphasize the social and intelligent nature of these animals, explaining that pet rats are affectionate companions who enjoy interaction and playtime. The organization also offers resources on rat care, including diet, housing, and health tips, ensuring that both new and experienced owners have the knowledge needed for happy, healthy pets. By connecting with OPRats, you can help create a brighter future for these friendly and curious creatures.
