De Oudheid van Tegenwoordig

De Oudheid van Tegenwoordig shares the history, languages, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome with learners of all ages. Founded by Marloes van Kleef, a teacher with 20 years of experience in Greek and Latin language and culture, the initiative makes the ancient world accessible beyond the classroom. Its educational activities also connect classical knowledge with present-day topics, including migration, gender, and geopolitics.

Workshops are available for primary and secondary schools, after-school care groups, and special education settings. Themes can include mythology, Greek, Latin, and archaeology. Examples include a two-hour workshop where pupils learn to read and write Greek, and mythology sessions for children and adults, offered as individual workshops or a series.

The program also includes a ten-evening course for parents and other curious adults, particularly those whose children study at gymnasium level. Participants explore Greek and Latin learning alongside ancient culture, mythology, and history. Private lessons and tutoring are also available.
