OULUN KARATESEURA

Oulun Karateseura ry (OKS) is the largest and oldest karate club in northern Finland, offering a welcoming place to develop fitness and skills through martial arts and other physical activities. Its disciplines include JKA Shotokan karate, jujutsu, kobudo, kettlebell training and asahi. Courses cater to different ages and experience levels, including children’s karate, junior and adult classes, senior karate, competitive training, and beginner courses. No previous experience is required, and members can take part in all the club’s disciplines for one membership fee.

Training takes place at the club’s own dojo in Äimärautio, Oulu, which has two 140-square-metre halls, a gym, changing rooms, showers and a lounge. Experienced instructors guide participants as they build their abilities through varied, long-term training. The club also hosts events and training camps, with news and schedules available through its website. OKS is affiliated with the Finnish Karate Association, Japan Karate Association Finland, the Finnish Jujutsu Association, the Finnish Weightlifting Association and Pohjois-Pohjanmaan Liikunta ry.
