OurGuideTo provides information about DECCA, Sandwell’s drug and alcohol service for people under 18. The service supports young people living in the Sandwell area with substance-related concerns, excluding nicotine use, and offers confidential advice, education, counselling and practical support. Its work covers issues involving alcohol, cannabis, volatile substances and Class A drugs.

DECCA delivers drug education in mainstream primary and secondary schools, with sessions addressing topics such as medicines, tobacco, vapes, alcohol and cannabis. It also provides harm-reduction and prevention work in non-mainstream settings, including community schools, special educational needs schools and alternative training providers. Community events, information stands and outreach help share guidance with young people and the wider public.

For young people experiencing drug or alcohol difficulties, DECCA takes a holistic approach combining interventions, education and counselling. The service also offers advice and educational resources to schools and community organisations, training for professionals, support with substance-related incidents, and help developing relevant policies and procedures.
