Outdoor Deventer

Outdoor Deventer is a volunteer-run sports club in Deventer, bringing together people who enjoy outdoor activity, adventure and a friendly club atmosphere. Also known as Deventer Kanovereniging (DKV), the association offers several disciplines, with paddling, archery and other outdoor pursuits at its heart. Its home at Gashavenstraat provides access to the IJssel, canoe polo fields and archery ranges, as well as an indoor sports hall for strength and fitness training.

Members can enjoy touring and open-water canoeing, from peaceful trips through nature to more challenging journeys. Canoe polo, a fast-paced team sport often compared to rugby on water, welcomes newcomers who want to try a training session or take part in a dedicated experience. Beginners can also join a recreational canoeing course.

Archery is available with guidance, with safety and enjoyment emphasised. The club also organises outdoor activities in the Alps and encourages shared trips and social gatherings. Outdoor Deventer is open to new members and offers opportunities to learn, train and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts
