Outdoor Nature Play, LLC offers outdoor nature classes for children ages 1–12 in Marana, Oro Valley, and northwest Tucson, Arizona. Led by Megan Hymers, the classes invite children and caregivers to explore the Sonoran Desert through guided play and sensory activities. Each class features a Sonoran Desert animal, giving young explorers a chance to observe the natural world and learn through hands-on experiences.
The program aims to help children develop problem-solving, persistence, focus, creativity, empathy, wellness awareness, and the ability to work with others. Families can find registration information through Marana and Oro Valley Parks and Recreation, and the site also notes that the program is an Arizona ESA vendor.
Hymers holds a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Arizona and has volunteered with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum’s Tortoise Adoption Program since 2005. A third-generation Tucsonan with a longstanding interest in animals, she trained with Tinkergarten in 2022. Outdoor Nature Play encourages families to enjoy the outdoors, meet other nature explorers, and discover new ways to play.
