Outerlands Medics

Outerlands Medics & Rescue is a Santa Cruz and Bay Area-based provider of first aid, CPR, and wilderness medicine training. Founded to make medical knowledge and services more accessible, the organization focuses especially on people who work or recreate outdoors, where access to emergency care may be limited. Its certified medical professionals and experienced outdoor educators deliver nationally certified courses in CPR/AED, First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, and epinephrine administration, along with other training.

Outerlands offers single-day and multi-day classes, upcoming public courses, and custom programs for organizations. Training is tailored to participants’ work and life hazards, with flexible scheduling, varied course lengths and certification options, and sliding-scale fees. Sessions combine classroom instruction with hands-on emergency scenarios to support different learning styles and practical preparation. The organization also provides medical training and services designed around community needs, with an emphasis on care, consent, and safety for marginalized identities.
