Na Leo ‘O Ke Kai is an outrigger canoe club based in the Phoenix metropolitan area, bringing the spirit of aloha to Arizona through paddling, cultural education, and community involvement. The club competes in canoe races in California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Canada, and contributes leadership to International Va’a Federation sprint races. Its programs serve adults and young people, offering educational, recreational, cultural, and competitive Hawaiian outrigger canoeing in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

Beyond athletic training and competition, Na Leo promotes leadership and teamwork, helps preserve Polynesian culture and heritage, supports Arizona State University students, and creates opportunities for youth across the Valley. Its keiki and junior teams, supported by coaches, have helped shape young paddlers’ experiences and futures since 2010. The club also offers a scholarship program for junior members who remain active in paddling and volunteer service as they transition from high school into adulthood. Through these activities, Na Leo seeks to revive, develop, perpetuate, and share Hawaiian traditions while strengthening the cultural life of its community.
