About Outside The Box Caskets
Outside The Box Caskets is a unique brand that offers sustainable and stylish funeral caskets and ashes urns. The brand was founded by Becs Bartells, a talented designer from New Zealand who received 2 Gold Australasian Design Innovation Awards for her innovative casket design. Becs was inspired to create Outside The Box Caskets when she realized the limited options available when preparing for her Nana's funeral.
She wanted to design a casket that not only looked different from traditional ones but also prioritized sustainability. With her expertise in Industrial Design, Becs developed and refined the casket over 2 years before establishing Outside The Box Caskets. These caskets are the first of their kind in New Zealand to be certified by Natural Burials NZ and are now available to funeral homes nationwide.
The brand also offers eco-friendly urns for ashes. Outside The Box Caskets has design registrations in several countries, including New Zealand, Australia, Europe, the United Kingdom, China, South Africa, and the USA.
