The Oudheidkundige Vereniging Didam (OVD) is a local historical society dedicated to documenting and sharing the heritage of Didam, Loil and Nieuw-Dijk, as well as the nearby communities of Greffelkamp, Oud-Dijk and Holthuizen. Its website brings together a broad collection of material on the area’s history, including archaeology, historic maps, buildings, churches, schools, businesses, local organisations, notable people and street names. Visitors can explore archival indexes, old photographs, films and information about farms and place names, alongside stories about community life and significant events.

OVD supports this work through specialist groups covering subjects such as genealogy, dialect and folklore, monuments, communications, publications and the history of the Second World War and liberation. The association also organises projects and activities, including exhibitions, information panels, open days and commemorative initiatives. Its publications include yearbooks, the Aover Diem magazine and other local-history works. OVD welcomes members and volunteers, and shares photographs and related heritage resources through online initiatives such as Liemers in Beeld.
