Overcomers Christian Ministries Uganda is a faith-based organization working to build the socio-economic and spiritual independence of people with disabilities in Uganda. Its central focus is helping children with hydrocephalus, spina bifida, and other disabilities access education, care, and opportunities to develop their abilities.
The organization operates a special-needs school where smaller class sizes and tailored support help students learn at their own pace and prepare, when possible, to join mainstream education. Its work responds to barriers children may face in community schools, including limited accessibility, large classes, and a lack of experience supporting special educational needs. Students also receive daily care, including nursing and medical support, and some take part in physiotherapy. The school helps children build practical skills and confidence while fostering an environment where they are accepted and can form friendships.
Overcomers seeks to strengthen its impact through rehabilitation and training centers, and through connections with support groups, churches, and other faith-based institutions.
