Overstappie

Overstappie is a Dutch savings platform that helps people find and switch to cheaper contracts and subscriptions. It covers energy, mobile phone services, car and home insurance, and streaming. By connecting a bank account through Yapily, a regulated open-banking provider, users allow the platform to identify recurring payments and compare potential alternatives without manually entering their contracts.

The connection is read-only: users authenticate with their own bank, and Overstappie says it never sees their password or has the ability to move money. After reviewing the options, users decide whether to switch; Overstappie then handles the process, including cancelling the old service. The service is free for consumers and earns commissions from new providers, while stating that it ranks the cheapest suitable option first regardless of commission.

Users can also receive 15–20% of the platform’s commission when people they refer switch through their personal link. Overstappie presents the process as taking about three minutes and describes potential savings as indicative, depending on each user’s circumstances
