OVIBEIRA is an agricultural producers’ association serving the Beira Baixa region of Portugal. It brings together more than 2,000 members, primarily in the municipalities of Castelo Branco, Vila Velha de Ródão, Penamacor and Idanha-a-Nova. Its members collectively manage a livestock population of more than 120,000 sheep, 25,000 cattle and 12,000 goats, reflecting the association’s strong connection to local farming and animal production.

A central part of OVIBEIRA’s work is organizing livestock auctions, with a regular programme of cattle sales and information about sheep auctions. The association provides online auction access and publishes materials for both the pre-auction and post-auction stages, including auction journals that help participants follow sales. Its website also shares agricultural news and videos, alongside information about the association and its services. Based in Castelo Branco, OVIBEIRA connects regional livestock producers with auction opportunities and practical updates, supporting the exchange and marketing of animals across its farming community. Its activities focus on livestock, producers and the needs of agriculture in Beira Baixa.
