Ovis Outfitters

Ovis Outfitters is an Alaska-based big-game guiding service dedicated to organizing guided hunting adventures across the state. The company offers hunts for grizzly bears, including spring and Arctic grizzly opportunities, brown bears, caribou, Dall sheep, and moose. Its approach centers on ethical, fair-chase hunting and providing clients with a high-quality, well-supported experience in Alaska’s wild areas.

Ovis Outfitters operates three aircraft, allowing it to transport hunters among its hunting areas and manage trip logistics without relying solely on air taxi providers. The outfit also holds an exclusive federal guide concession for Dall sheep hunts and offers access to other remote locations. Its turn-key service supports clients from arrival through the end of the hunt, including assistance with arranging shipment of meat and trophies home. The company emphasizes its Alaskan experience, established local relationships, and personal attention to trip planning and support. Ovis Outfitters is led by registered guides Matt Thoft and Emily Thoft, who invite prospective hunters to contact them for information and references.
