Overbury Stallions, part of the Overbury Stud, has a rich history spanning back to before the Second World War. Located in the Vale of Evesham, Overbury Stud benefits from free-draining sandy soil and a mild climate, creating optimal conditions for horse breeding. The stud has achieved great success over the years, with their horses winning prestigious races and becoming champion sires.
One of their notable achievements was breeding Whistler, who went on to be a Champion sire of two-year-olds after winning the Coventry Stakes in 1952. Other successful horses bred at Overbury Stud include College Chapel, a winner of Prix Maurice de Gheest and Europe's leading first-season sire, as well as the G1 winners Caitano and Tower Walk. Despite their impressive pedigree, the stud is perhaps best known for producing Grundy, a legendary racehorse who won the Derby, Dewhurst, and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Grundy's thrilling duel with Bustino during the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes is still remembered today. With such a history of excellence, Overbury Stallions continues to offer top-quality stallions and services to breeders and horse enthusiasts
