About OZCF
Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) is a well-established educational non-profit project in Cape Town, South Africa, dedicated to celebrating local food, culture, and community through urban agriculture. Founded in 2012, OZCF operates on a 0.25ha heritage site on the slopes of Table Mountain, offering a variety of educational programs, workshops, and hands-on learning experiences for all ages. As part of the SA Urban Food & Farming Trust, OZCF aims to strengthen urban communities and ecosystems through sustainable food and farming practices.
The farm features a market, volunteer programs, produce box schemes, allotment rentals, and household food waste composting initiatives. With over 60,000 social media followers and two published books, OZCF is a leading voice in South Africa's urban farming movement. The site's rich history dates back to the 17th century when it was a vital source of fresh produce for the growing settlement. Today, OZCF continues to innovate and inspire sustainable urban agriculture practices for the future.
