OZ ZELEŇ

OZ Zeleň is a Slovak civic association founded by people with hunting education who share a commitment to biodiversity, wildlife care, and greater public understanding of nature and wildlife management. Based in Dechtice, the organization works to improve habitats and ecological diversity in today’s intensively used landscape, collaborating with environmental authorities, hunting and agricultural organizations, local governments, and other partners.

Its activities include supporting hunting associations in caring for wildlife and the countryside, restoring natural greenery through tree and shrub planting, and improving water sources by cleaning and deepening wells and springs. OZ Zeleň also supports the creation of educational trails, prepares documentation for grant and EU funding applications, and organizes public awareness events, seminars, training, and other educational, cultural, social, and sporting activities. Its website features initiatives concerning the Živá Lúka project, brown hare monitoring, lowland biodiversity, windbreaks, tree avenues, riparian vegetation, and wildlife strips. The association also undertakes publishing and consulting activities and advocates for regional and national legislative changes that support its environmental goals.
