Paardenklank

Paardenklank is a horse-assisted guidance practice run by Aukje van der Schaaf near Mûnein, where a herd of eight Icelandic horses lives in a natural setting. The practice offers children and adults a gentle way to explore feelings, intuition and personal growth through time spent with horses. Rather than focusing primarily on clients’ problems, Aukje encourages presence and connection, allowing each person to set their own pace.

Activities may include walking with, caring for, grooming or riding a horse; participants can choose what feels right, and nothing is compulsory. The horses provide opportunities to experience boundaries, closeness, trust, safety, leading and following. For children, sensory contact and the experience of being carried by a strong, warm horse can support early self-confidence.

Adults may gain fresh perspectives for everyday life or further therapeutic conversations, and sitting or riding may also feel helpful for some physical complaints, including lower back discomfort. Aukje brings experience in naturopathy, haptonomy and work with diverse groups. Sessions cost from €25 per hour
