Paard en Verbinding is a small-scale care farm in Goudswaard, in the Hoeksche Waard region of South Holland, where horses play a central role in meaningful daytime activities. Founded and run by Tessa and Patrick Bouman, the farm draws on their experience in care, activity guidance, project management and working with people. They offer a welcoming setting for clients to spend time with animals and nature, with activities shaped around connection and individual choice.

Their approach is grounded in equality: clients are not treated as people who need to be “fixed,” but are encouraged to develop at their own pace and build confidence through their own strengths. Tessa and Patrick aim to create an environment in which people can be themselves and experience the possibilities of connecting with horses, other animals and the natural surroundings. Paard en Verbinding presents its work as personal and small-scale, with attention to each person and the relationships formed on the farm.
