Päätalo seuran

Kalle Päätalo-seura ry is a Finnish cultural association dedicated to fostering interest in the life and works of author Kalle Päätalo and preserving memories and materials connected with him. Its mission also includes supporting Finnish creative literature, art and related research, while safeguarding and promoting cultural activities in Taivalkoski. The association welcomes members and shares information about its work, events and publications through its website and Facebook page.

Each year it publishes Päätalosanomat, provided free to members who have paid their membership fee. In early July, the society works with other Taivalkoski organisations to host Päätaloviikko, a summer cultural week featuring speakers and events; most activities are free, while excursions may have a charge. The association also awards a scholarship to the student nominated by upper-secondary teachers for the best matriculation examination essay.

Its website offers news, articles, photographs and memories from events, as well as information about membership, the society’s leadership and rules
