1. PAC's Mission Pakistan Agricultural Coalition believes in the necessity of transforming Pakistan’s agricultural sector in order to realize its full potential. PAC’s vision is of an agricultural sector which is private-sector led, technology-driven, entrepreneurial and globally competitive. A transformation of the agriculture sector in this direction is only possible if farmer profitability rises as a result of it. PAC’s mission is to drive that transformation. For this purpose consensus and concerted action are needed from key stakeholders such as: growers, governments, the private sector, development partners, the finance sector, academics and consumer groups. 2. PAC strengths PAC’s sponsors have a cumulative turnover of over $10 billion and have superior technical and business expertise in agriculture-related sectors. This allows PAC unique power to bring together different stakeholders and provide leadership for the envisaged transformation. PAC has forged strong partnerships with leading farmer organizations. With its strong links with key stakeholders, PAC is uniquely placed to unite different stakeholders for a common objective. 3.PAC’s role PAC was born out of an acute need felt across the agricultural industry for an institution which would provide a leadership vision and “connect the dots” in the industry. PAC’s flagship project are public benefit projects with multiple stakeholders. In each effort, PAC serves as a neutral body that has the confidence of stakeholders, access to international expertise and the ability to bring together each stakeholders to achieve an objective. 4. PAC’s approach PAC’s approach has been to build ‘coalitions of the willing’ around projects that are a clear necessity for transforming Pakistan’s agriculture sector but require an institution to ‘connect the dots’.
