Pacific Center for Human Growth, founded in 1973, is the oldest LGBTQIA+ center in the Bay Area and the third oldest in the nation. It is also the only sliding scale mental health clinic for LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC individuals and their families in Alameda County. The center is committed to enhancing the mental health and overall well-being of these communities by offering culturally responsive therapy, peer-to-peer support groups, community outreach services, and facilitated workshops.

With the support of nearly 200 volunteers and 11 staff members, Pacific Center provides a range of services to over 3,000 people annually. These include licensed mental health services, accredited training for graduate-level student therapists and pre-licensed clinicians, mental health support groups for HIV+ individuals in Alameda County, a safe-space drop-in program for youth, and free therapy groups for LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC adults. The center also offers volunteer-led peer support groups, training and consultation services for organizations, agencies, and companies, and aims to enhance culturally responsive practices related to LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC clients and colleagues.
