About Pacific Harbors Council
Pacific Harbors Council, part of Scouting America, serves youth and adult volunteers throughout Washington’s South Sound, including communities in South King, Pierce, Lewis, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, and Pacific counties. Its mission is to help young people make ethical and moral choices throughout their lives by teaching the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Through character development, physical fitness, service, and career exploration, the council prepares young people to become future leaders and active citizens.
The council supports more than 3,200 youth and works with over 1,700 adult volunteers. Its programs include Cub Scouts for youth in grades K–5; Scouts BSA for ages 11–17; and Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Exploring for ages 14–20. Additional offerings include summer camps and outdoor experiences at Camp Thunderbird, camping resources, advancement and leadership training, and opportunities such as National Youth Leadership Training, University of Scouting, and Wood Badge. The council also provides membership resources, leader tools, camp and building bookings, Scout shops, and ways to support local programs through fundraising and giving.
