Welcome to the Pacific Palisades Historical Society - a membership-based, non-profit organization dedicated to conserving the rich culture and heritage of our community. Since 1972, our mission has been to preserve the history and stories of the founding families of Pacific Palisades. Our society works tirelessly to locate and collect local historical materials, landmark significant sites and buildings, and publish books related to the captivating history of Pacific Palisades.

We take immense pride in owning and maintaining Founders Oak Island, the birthplace of Pacific Palisades. The park, located on Haverford Avenue, stands as a testament to the origins of our vibrant community.
As stewards of history, the Pacific Palisades Historical Society has meticulously archived and cataloged over 3,000 historical photos, accessible to the public at the Santa Monica Public Library. Additionally, we have facilitated the transfer of the Marquez Family Photography Collection to the prestigious Huntington Library in Pasadena.
