The brand's history began when a renowned US research firm set up in Biloela to introduce and adapt safflower crops to Australia, giving birth to Pacific Seeds. With ongoing research and breeding programs, Pacific Seeds has continuously shaped the agricultural industry, introducing Australia's first hybrid sunflower in 1974 and pioneering the world's first hybrid canola in 1988.

Pacific Seeds merged with Advanta Seeds in 1996, bringing herbicide tolerance technology to canola through their Hyola® hybrids. In recent years, they have developed and released igrowth® sorghum, a groundbreaking technology that enhances grower flexibility and weed control options.

With two properties in Kununurra, Pacific Seeds produces various seeds including grain sorghum, field corn, and forage sorghum. All seeds are carefully processed and distributed from Toowoomba, a journey spanning approximately 3,340km.
