About Pacific Int. Space Center for Exploration Systems
The Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES) is a University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo research center dedicated to developing sustainable technologies and industries that benefit both Earth and space exploration. Established in 2007, PISCES focuses on the research and development of dual-use technologies that can sustain life on the Moon and Mars while also making life on Earth more sustainable. PISCES collaborates with the international aerospace, robotics, and technology communities to advance space exploration.
They also provide unique opportunities for students in STEM-related fields, offering workshops, hands-on research, events, and technical work experience to inspire the next generation of space explorers. Ultimately, PISCES envisions thriving settlements on the Moon, Mars, and beyond, brought to life through researched and developed technologies and techniques in Hawai’i.
