About Packer Leather Shop
Packer Leather is a family-owned Australian tannery and leathercraft supplier with a heritage dating to 1891, when Joseph Packer established a woolskin and leather tanning factory in Brisbane. Now operated across five generations, the business specialises in performance leathers and sells directly from its tannery, combining locally produced leather with practical supplies for makers and leatherworkers.
Its range includes kangaroo, bovine, pigskin, sheepskin, crocodile and deerskin leathers, as well as cow hides and kangaroo and deer fur. Customers can choose from specialist options such as kangaroo nappa, gloving, whip and vegetable-tanned leather, alongside bovine bridle, shoulder and full-grain leathers. Packer Leather also offers kangaroo lacing, precut leather and kits, leathercraft tools, hardware, books and leather finishes. Hardware includes buckles, conchos, eyelets, rings, rivets and screws.
Products are available through the online shop, and the company’s leather experts can provide advice and guidance for projects. Packer Leather ships across Australia and New Zealand and also operates a retail outlet in Narangba, Queensland.
