Pack Weight Bag Company creates adjustable training weights for people preparing for backpacking and other demanding outdoor adventures. The idea began when founder Rob Saurers struggled to find a practical way to train for a backcountry elk hunt. Common alternatives, such as cement, free weights, or rocks, were difficult to use and adjust, prompting him to develop a more adaptable system.

The company’s flagship Pack Weight Bags are sold in sets of three and designed to sit lengthwise in a backpack, distributing weight along the back rather than concentrating it at the bottom. Each slender bag measures 4.5 inches in diameter and 24 inches tall and is made from durable 1000-denier nylon with YKK zippers. The bags are sewn in Ohio, USA.

Customers supply their own filler, allowing training loads to change over time. Depending on the material, each bag holds approximately 10 to 22 pounds; a set can range from about 10 pounds to 66 pounds.
