Pan American Energy (PAE) is Argentina’s leading private integrated energy company, with operations in Uruguay, Bolivia and Mexico. Through AXION energy, it participates across the hydrocarbons value chain and in renewable energy. In exploration and production, PAE develops conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources, including Cerro Dragón in Chubut and Vaca Muerta in Neuquén. The company reports significant production growth and reserve replacement in Argentina. In 2018, it became the first private operator in Mexico to receive approval for a development plan following that country’s energy reform.
PAE also participates in hydrocarbon transportation and electricity generation. Its downstream activities include refining and fuel retail: the company expanded and modernized the Campana refinery and operates more than 740 service stations in Argentina and Uruguay. Its renewable energy portfolio includes the Garayalde wind farm in Chubut, opened in 2018, with seven turbines and the capacity to supply more than 20,000 homes.
