About PAFF
The African Platform of Francophone Fact-Checkers (PAFF) is a collaborative initiative established in 2023, uniting ten media organizations across Francophone Africa dedicated to combating misinformation. With a mission to promote fact-checking and ensure the availability of quality information, the PAFF serves as a key resource for journalists and the public alike. The platform actively investigates disinformation and provides insights into the dynamics of content moderation on digital platforms.
In addition to publishing recent articles, the PAFF engages in building sustainable alliances to counteract misinformation, particularly in regions facing political instability and challenges to democratic narratives. It hosts events such as the Africa Facts Summit, which brings together various stakeholders in the information sphere to discuss and strategize on pressing issues. By connecting media professionals and offering resources for fact-checking, the PAFF is dedicated to enhancing civic engagement and fostering reliable communication in Francophone Africa.
