a Grottaminarda

Pubblica Assistenza Grottaminarda ODV is a volunteer organisation serving Grottaminarda, the Ufita area and surrounding communities. Its roots date to 1981, when volunteers established a public assistance group in the aftermath of the 1980 earthquake, inspired by Anpas organisations that came to support relief efforts. After that first association dissolved, former volunteers re-founded it on 30 January 2000. Since then, it has become a community reference point, guided by values including equality, freedom, solidarity and democracy.

The organisation works across several areas: health and social support, local mobility, training and education, civil protection, cultural and international activities, and Italy’s Universal Civil Service. It also promotes volunteering and training, and invites community members to support its work through donations and the designated voluntary-sector contribution on Italian tax forms. Based in Grottaminarda, the association provides information and contacts for people interested in its activities, services, or opportunities to participate. Its work is rooted in voluntary service and a commitment to responding to community needs.
