About Painted Dog Research
The Painted Dog Research Trust is a conservation organization that is dedicated to protecting and conserving the endangered African painted dogs. They achieve this through field-based data-driven research, community-based education, and sound science. Based near Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, the Painted Dog Research Trust operates as a conservation ecology center and serves as the headquarters for their conservation efforts.
With the Pan-African population of painted dogs rapidly declining, their work is crucial in ensuring the survival of these magnificent creatures. The organization focuses on addressing conservation challenges within the Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA) dispersal corridor, which connects painted dog populations across five neighboring countries. Their strategies include mentoring students, implementing conservation initiatives like satellite tracking anti-snare collars and habitat restoration, and engaging local communities to find solutions that benefit both humans and painted dogs.
Their mission is to establish a freely interconnected painted dog population free from human interference. To support their mission, donations are welcome. Learn more about their work by exploring their publications and annual reports
